Background
Gun violence is a complex issue, and the advocacy group needed a way to present dense policy data in a format that was both digestible and emotionally impactful.
The goal was to engage a wide audience including researchers, educators, policymakers, and the general public without overwhelming them with raw statistics.
My Role
I led the UX and visual design of "The Issue" section, turning static information into an interactive narrative. I worked closely with my creative director and key stakeholders from Giffords team to ensure the experience aligned with their mission and communicated insights.
Solution
A story-driven experience that visualizes the different types of gun violence across the U.S. Through interactive modules and contextual content, users can explore, understand impact, making complex data approachable and actionable for everyone.
Results & Impact
Improved user engagement with "The Issue" section, leading to a 31% increase in average time on page.
Achieved a 27% increase in newsletter signups from users exploring gun violence data.
